How it plays

A horizontal reel of Halloween creatures spins and stops on one symbol. A game is a run of spins, each costing a bet:

  • Witch, pumpkin and frank each add their next ladder value to the kitty — the more often a creature has landed this game, the more it pays.
  • A blank pays nothing; the opening spin never lands one.
  • The skull ends the game and takes the kitty.
  • After any surviving spin, CASH OUT banks the kitty or SPIN AGAIN stakes another bet.
  • Once all three creatures have landed four or more times, the 1000× major prize is added and the game ends.

PRD for Halloween - Asset, Maths Game Design, Presentation

Assets: Plinko is the source game. I have 4 spine sprites from here: https://cgortz.itch.io/animated-halloween-goobers (thanks!) frank witch pumpkin skull

They each have: Attack Hurt Die Idle Invisible

Game Design/Maths: The maths consists of a round-based game where a single random pull from a weighted table occurs per round. There are 5 outcomes (symbols) per round:

  1. WITCH - highest value
  2. PUMPKIN
  3. FRANK
  4. SKULL
  5. BLANK

SKULL ends the game with no reward. BLANK is non-paying.

Any other outcome adds a value to the Kitty.

After a successful round, the player can "CASH OUT" or "SPIN AGAIN".

SPIN AGAIN costs another bet.

There are 4 escalating values for each paying symbol, mapped to the number of rounds where that symbol lands.

When all 3 paying symbols have had four (or more) rounds, a major prize is paid and the game ends.

If a paying symbol lands in more than 4 rounds, it pays the top prize again to the kitty.

Use the values in the screen mock up (see below) as initial values. Don't worry about solving game maths.

Presentation: The attached image gives general guidance on colours and presentation. Note:

  1. This should have standard UI functionality and placement.
  2. The background is black. The game play area has a gradient.
  3. The reel is horizontal. Symbols should spin by exiting screen left.
  4. The is a semi-transparent, white strip along the bottom of the reel.
  5. There are 4 colour-coded
  6. A "BLANK" stop should be depicted as the reel stopping so pointer arrow is between 2 visible symbols.
  7. Only the landed symbol sohuld animate (IDLE). All others sohuld be still.
